The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (or SNAP) serves more than 40 million people in the U.S. – making it the largest and most comprehensive source of food assistance for Americans experiencing poverty. Yet many government administrators, case workers, community advocates, legal professionals and those who are eligible for the program may be unaware of how to apply for SNAP benefits, or how to appeal when those benefits are denied, reduced or taken away.
