Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of New Mexico and his Master of Social Work from the University of Denver, where he developed a deep interest in policy and systems reform to ensure all people have opportunities to thrive, with particular attention to those most vulnerable and disadvantaged in our current systems.
His introduction to political advocacy began with One Colorado, where he worked to advance LGBTQ+ rights, including advocating for the ban of conversion therapy on minors. As a Youth Advocate with Young Invincibles, he continued his advocacy work, focusing on policy priorities for young adults, including expanding access to mental health care.
Chris then spent three years as an Aide at the Colorado State Legislature, where he supported a range of policy initiatives, including tax and healthcare reforms, as well as improvements to substance use disorder prevention, harm reduction, treatment, and recovery services in Colorado.
